Lourmarin is situated in the Luberon Regional Park with numerous hiking, bike/horse riding paths through wild thyme, rosemary and juniper. I have lots of maps, guides and ideas to make the most of this wonderful place. There are many attractive villages in the vicinity of Lourmarin: Cucuron, Lauris, Ansouis and travelling north through the combe, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Gordes, Apt, Ménerbes and Roussillon, to name but a few. Larger towns within an hour's drive include Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Arles, St. Remy de Provence and Marseille. The French Riviera with Antibes, Cannes with its famous film festival, Nice, and St. Tropez are all a day-trip from here. |

The Gorges du Verdon is a spectacular canyon to the north east, with hiking, camping, and river rafting. Nearby is the Plateau of Valensole with vast lavender fields and lakes. Further to the east are the ski areas of Briançon and the Alps. |
